After hours of searching Amazon for the best cordless battery powered leaf blower I selected what looked the best to me based on their manufacturers specification and the Amazon reviews.

Ego 56V Cordless Leaf Blower With 2.0AH Battery & Charger

This was definitely the best cordless leaf blower I tested – I cleared 250 m² of heavy wet sycamore leaves off my un-mowed lawn in under 8 minutes – I continued to use the blower on full to see how long the battery would last for and it lasts for a good half hour so you will be able to clear a large lawn full of heavy thickly piled wet leaves with this blower.

The battery charger is amazing too; taking just 45 minutes to recharge the 56V battery!

You can also see this tool is fantastic quality and looks like it will have a long useful lifetime – hence the manufacturer has no problem giving a 5 year guarantee (3 years on the lithium ion battery)!

The only reason not to go for this leaf blower is that it is relatively heavy – about 4Kg with the battery on my bathroom scales. But because it is so efficient you probably won’t be using it for long enough to tire your arms – you can also easily use 2 hands to hold it which makes it easier to handle.

I paid £199.00 from Amazon – making it slightly pricier than other leaf blowers but it’s definitely worth every penny.

Verdict

The Ego Leaf Blower is the best cordless battery powered leaf blower for clearing thick piles of heavy wet leaves off large lawns

Hyundai HYB60LI 60V Cordless Leaf Blower with 60v Lithium-ion Battery and Charger 

Hyundai are really making headway in the battery powered garden tool market. Their cordless leaf blower is a solid quality tool – I cleared 250 m² of heavy wet sycamore leaves off my un-mowed lawn in under 8 minutes – I continued to use the blower on full to see how long the battery would last for and it lasts for about 15 minutes with frequent use of the “power boost buttons” so you will be able to clear a medium lawn full of heavy thickly piled wet leaves with this blower.

This blower is also quite heavy at around 4Kg with the battery but like the Ego blower you won’t be holding it for that long because it makes short work shifting wet leaves.

The battery takes about an hour to charge and does get quite warm after being used on full for 15 minutes so Hyundai’s battery technology may not be as good as Ego’s.

I paid just £159.99 for this leaf blower and battery.

Verdict

The Hyundai Leaf Blower is the best cordless battery powered leaf blower for clearing thick piles of heavy wet leaves off small to medium sized lawns

WORX WG546E.2 18V 20V MAX Cordless Air Turbine Blower with 2 Batteries

This cordless leaf blower is unbelievable value for money – I paid just £93.95 and it comes with 2 batteries! It gave slightly less power than the Ego and Hyundai blowers – it struggled on very thick piles (12 inches plus!) of wet leaves but I managed to clear my 250 m² un-mowed lawn of heavy wet sycamore leaves in 10 minutes which is how long the battery lasts.

The WORX cordless leaf blower is about a kilo lighter than the Ego and Hyundai blowers making it easier to carry.

The battery takes a long time – about 4 hours to recharge – maybe that’s why they include 2 battery packs!

Verdict

The WORX leaf blower is definitely the best low priced cordless leaf blower and will still cope perfectly well with heavy wet leaves on an average lawn.

Bosch ALB 36 LI Cordless Leaf Blower with 36 V 2.0 Ah Lithium-Ion Battery

This leaf blower struggles on heavy wet sycamore leaves on my lawn but worked really well on lighter wet beech leaves. It had no problem at all clearing wet leaves off my tarmac path. It is about a kilo lighter than even the WORX blower weighing around 2Kg on my bathroom scales.

The battery lasted for 20 minutes on full which was enough time to clear light wet leaves of my 250 m² un-mowed lawn. The battery takes an hour to recharge.

I paid £203.10 for this blower with the battery and charger

Verdict

The Bosch leaf blower is over-priced in my opinion – you are probably paying extra for the brand name. If you like using Bosch products, the battery and charger can be used for their other cordless gardening products in this range. This leaf blower is good for clearing wet leaves from paths and light leaf loads from lawns.

Ryobi OBL1820S ONE+ 18V Cordless Leaf Blower Without Battery

This leaf blower struggles on heavy wet sycamore leaves on my lawn but worked really well on lighter wet beech leaves. It had no problem at all clearing wet leaves off my tarmac path. It is slightly heavier than the Bosch blower because the battery is larger, but I would still say it is a light weight leaf blower.

The battery lasted for 20 minutes on full which was enough time to clear light wet leaves of my 250 m² un-mowed lawn. The battery takes about 4 hours to recharge.

I paid £44.99 for this blower but had to buy a battery for £75.95 and charger for £43.00 giving a total cost of £153.94

Verdict

This leaf blower is good for clearing wet leaves from paths and light leaf loads from lawns. Although I would always go for the WORX leaf blower over this one – the WORX is cheaper and has better performance

VonHaus Cordless Leaf Blower with 20V Max. Battery 

A lightweight blower – this blower struggles with even light wet leaves on the lawn – it was a bit better with wet leaves on tarmac but over all I’d say buy this blower for clearing dry leaves not wet leaves. It is a very light leaf blower weighing only about 1Kg on my bathroom scales so is suitable for those of us with weaker forearms!

The battery lasts for about 15 minutes and only takes an hour to charge.

I paid £39.99 for this leaf blower including the battery and charger.

Verdict

The VonHaus Cordless leaf blower is very cheap, but don’t expect to be clearing heavy leaf falls. It will do for workroom and patio clearing but I wouldn’t buy it for clearing leaves off the lawn.

Stihl BGA 45 Cordless Leaf Blower

This cordless leaf blower from Stihl is very light weight and definitely punches above it’s weight grade! For clearing dry leaves it is perfectly adequate but I think it may struggle with wet leaves.

It runs for a good 20 minutes when fully charged and has a built in battery which takes only an hour or so to fully charge.

Verdict

The Stihl BGA 45 cordless Leaf blower with it’s integrated 18 volt battery makes light work clearing your garden of summer debris. It will effortlessly blow leaves and debris from your garden path and lawn,   and is also useful for clearing mess from work room floors.

Weighing only 2kg makes it lighter than some garden brooms and is it’s main advantage when comparing it to other cordless leaf blowers.

Please note this leaf blower is not intended for heavy piles of wet autumn leaves – for these you will need a heavier machine.

Summary – Which Cordless Leaf Blower I Would Buy?

• If I had the money to spend I’d definitely buy the Ego 56V Cordless Leaf Blower With 2.0AH Battery & Charger – it’s performance is head and shoulders above the rest.
• If I was looking to spend less, I’d go for the WORX WG546E.2 18V 20V MAX Cordless Air Turbine Blower with 2 Batteries which is unbeatable value for money at £93.95!
• If you are looking for a lighter lower powered leaf blower you may as well go for the VonHaus Cordless Leaf Blower with 20V Max  at £39.99 as the Ryobi, Bosch and Stihl machines are not worth the extra £100 – £150 you’ll be paying.

Generally the more you spend the more powerful the leaf blower will be and the more expensive models will usually boast longer lasting batteries, quicker charge time for their batteries, a more robust machine engine and body and a longer manufacturers guarantee.

Bare in mind though the more expensive more powerful machines may be heavier than cheaper less powerful leaf blowers.
